Kia ora [Name],

This week I hit the road and it’s been awesome getting out to speak to Opportunity members, volunteers and the wider public! We’re two weeks in and have some great momentum already but your continued support will help us keep the pace up.

I’d be so grateful if you’d consider setting up a monthly donation. The next 12 months are critical and regular member donations provide the stability we need to continue getting the word out through events, social media, and supporting our volunteers. Even $10-$20 a month will make a huge difference if you’re able to contribute.

For a taster of all the incredible work happening, check out last week’s summary below!

Media Wrap-Up

This week allowed us to dive a bit deeper into longer conversations with political commentators including:

Roadshow Week 1

Kicking off the first week of the roadshow, I had the chance to meet supporters and interested locals at three public gatherings:

  • Auckland (Western Springs) – We kicked off the week with our first public gathering on Sunday, sharing our vision for a new New Zealand and diving into all sorts of Q&A!
  • Hamilton – A strong turnout and thoughtful questions about the economy, education, and what makes Opportunity different.
  • Whangārei – A great conversation about regional development, cost-of-living pressures, and local solutions.

I’ve also been fortunate to connect with business and community leaders as I make my way around the country. From circular materials business, SaveBoard in Te Rapa, to the country’s oldest family run hire business, Cowley’s Hire in Whangārei, I’ve appreciated hearing the local challenges and opportunities facing these communities.

Help Us Maintain This Momentum Become a Monthly Supporter

The pace we’re moving at is intentional, and it’s working. But to sustain it, we need resourcing.

A monthly donation, even a small one, gives us the stability to:

  • Keep running regional events and meeting communities face-to-face
  • Grow our organising and volunteer capacity
  • Invest in communications so more people hear about Opportunity
  • Bring on the support needed to keep this momentum going right through to the election

Your ongoing contribution helps ensure we can build a credible, visible, nationwide movement.

Looking Ahead

We have more regional events planned, more policy work underway, and more opportunities to connect with members and supporters around the country. You can always find upcoming events on our website.

Thank you again for your support — it makes an enormous difference. As always, you’re welcome to reply to this email with thoughts or ideas.

Ngā mihi,

Qiulae Wong
