My principal place of residence is in the Tauranga City Council area.
Born and raised in Tauranga, the Owens family have been consistent contributors to the social development and the enhancement of our city through both business and local governance.
My long experience in transport, logistics, IT, and construction, coupled with two terms representing Tauranga on the BOP Regional Council, has prepared me to lead our city into further prosperity, with sound planning and oversight.
As a proud father of five and grandfather of six, I'm dedicated to plan, manage, and encourage local growth to provide a thriving community for future generations to live in, enjoy, and for our children to grow up in a safe and happy environment. My immediate aim is to improve open governance and management at all levels, to ensure Tauranga remains a dynamic community where voices are heard, and values shared.
My ultimate goal is to transform Tauranga into the model for local government in New Zealand.
