Standing for:
Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai/Lower Hutt General Constituency
Affiliation:
Independent
Principal place of residence:
My principal place of residence is in the Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai/Lower Hutt General Constituency area.
Lower Hutt is an integral jigsaw piece in the Greater Wellington Region. It needs good representation, with the ability to look at the wider picture and also the finer details. I have extensive local government experience as Chair of Petone Community Board, and a record of community advocacy and networks. Having a pragmatic approach is exactly what the GWRC needs to guide smart regional development, safeguarding local interests for the future. Forest Service and Department of Conservation roles, a life-long interest in transport, current work in vocational consultancy, plus service as a JP, bring valuable background knowledge and an ongoing perspective on community views. A core attribute of mine is an emphasis on collegial constructive decision-making, listening, debating respectfully and working towards well-reasoned decisions. I commit to be informed, be prepared and be of service. For a Regional Councillor with experience, integrity and independent judgement, I ask for your vote.
