Jared Adams – Candidate for Rotorua Lakes Council
I am not a career politician. I am a proven business leader who has lived through some of life’s toughest challenges and emerged stronger, wiser, and more determined to serve this community.
For more than a decade I successfully operated Rotorua TOP 10 Holiday Park, welcoming over half a million visitors and building one of the city’s most awarded businesses. My leadership extended to the national level through my service on industry boards, where I worked to strengthen tourism, create jobs, and support local economies. I have managed large teams, balanced budgets, and delivered results in one of the most competitive industries in New Zealand.
What makes me different is that I have faced adversity head-on. Years ago, I made mistakes, took full responsibility, and rebuilt my life. Since then I have dedicated myself to raising my two sons as a full-time solo father, while continuing to contribute to the Rotorua community. My journey is one of resilience, accountability, and growth. These are the qualities that shape me as a leader today.
While others rely on polished talking points, I bring honesty and lived experience. The Daily Post may choose to reduce me to “a convict,” but my record as a business owner, father, and advocate proves that I am much more. I am prepared to ask the hard questions, challenge poor decisions, and fight for fairness because I have spent my life on the front line of real issues, not behind closed doors.
I am standing for council because Rotorua needs fresh leadership focused on smarter spending, safer streets, and a family-focused future. My experience in business and community leadership shows that I know how to listen, how to act, and how to deliver.
Rotorua deserves strong leadership built on resilience, integrity, and results. That is what I bring.
