    Candidate Statement

A resident of 25 years, I’m contesting the Mayoralty because this district deserves leadership, Councillors who are enabled to do their job setting direction, and a council organisation that delivers competently across the board.

The status quo will anchor us in the past and we need to deliver positive change to achieve a future that’s better for all of us whilst reversing reputational damage.

Truely inclusive leadership will enable us to achieve ‘Smart Growth’ that delivers equitably for our people, our businesses, our communities and our environment.

We need to reset council procedures and culture to restore trust, openness, accountability and a focus on core services.

To make progress and take our communities with us as we face the myriad of issues impacting our district, we need to have change in council at the highest levels.

It’s only by listening and then leading that we position ourselves to deliver success.
