My principal place of residence is in the Hutt City Council area.*
Mālō e lelei & Kia Ora. I’m Mele Tonga-Grant, born in Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai, and raised in Taitā. For over a decade, I’ve served our communities—supporting Pacific and Youth. My work has always centred on empowering our people, challenging inequities, and creating systems that reflect our values.
I believe in courageous governance that honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi, uplifts cultural identity, and creates space for our stories and experiences to shape policy.
I’ve proudly championed Indigenous rights, supported rangatahi leadership, and contributed to governance. I’m passionate about representation, youth voices, community wellbeing, and climate action. I’m committed to ensuring our voices are heard, our cultures are respected, and shaping a future for our mokopuna that honours the dreams and wisdom of our ancestors.
I stand for equity, visibility, and a future led by our communities. Vote Mele Tonga-Grant – for community, culture, and courageous leadership.
*Please note that after the close of nominations this candidate moved house so that now their principal place of residence is not within the Hutt City Council Area.
