Official Candidate Biography

My principal place of residence is in the Hutt City Council area.

I am also standing for Council (At Large). I am standing as an independent candidate to bring practical, community-focused leadership and a strong, independent voice to the Council table. For nearly 30 years, I’ve lived, worked, and served in Hutt City—raising my family, running a successful business, and supporting diverse communities across arts, health, and education.

My grassroots service, recognised with a Queen’s Service Medal, is backed by over 20 years of governance experience, including as Establishment Chair of the Hutt Valley DHB Consumer Council and two terms on the Central Ward Community Panel.

My priorities are clear: stopping wasteful spending by commissioning an independent financial review; fixing our failing infrastructure—roads, pipes, and public transport; and strengthening our communities by supporting arts, libraries, sports, and local groups. Let’s move beyond politics as usual and focus on putting people at the heart of every decision for Hutt City.

Investigation into United Hutt electoral returns ramping up years after complaint
The Post — August 10, 2025

An investigation into a Hutt City group of candidates’ 2022 electoral returns appears to be ramping up, with the main complainant having been contacted by police. In December 2022, Labour Party member Wayne Paaka laid a complaint with returning officer Bruce Hodgins, alleging it was unclear where the United Hutt group’s funding came from. Candidates are required to list donations over $1500. United Hutt listed an incorporated society, United Hutt Inc, as the source of its income and it is unclear whether it received any donations of more than $1500 ‒ the level at which they must be disclosed. Paaka’s complaint covered all 12 United Hutt candidates, including Tony Stallinger and Glenda Barratt, who made it on to council, although Stallinger missed out on the mayoral seat he was after. It also covered Prabha Ravi, who is running to be mayor in 2025. All stand by their 2022 returns.
