Peter Langlands

My principal place of residence is in the Christchurch North East/Ōrei Constituency area.

I am a keen forager, fisher and wildlife researcher who is passionate about the outdoors. Kayaking, tramping and exploring our region is a passion, but I also enjoy the diverse urban culture that our city offers. I live in Woolston and love being in the East with the beach, estuary, hills and rivers on our doorstep.

As a researcher - you can find me counting birds or fish and I would like to see us using good science and data to get the best environmental outcomes. My degrees in science from Canterbury University in zoology and ecology have helped to inform my work with DOC, ECan and a wide range of community groups.

We have such a stunning diversity in Christchurch and I am keen to see the quality of the environment maintained so that we can enjoy the wild spaces throughout the region for now and for future generations.
