Party Independent
Official Candidate Biography

My principal place of residence is in the Mid-Canterbury/Ōpākihi Constituency area.

I’ve called Selwyn/Waikirikiri home for six years and witnessed how our fast-growing communities are reshaping the Mid Canterbury/Ōpākihi landscape. Our region is ready for a reset - one that reflects the values of long-time residents and recent arrivals.

With a Master’s in Wellbeing Economics and two degrees in Environmental Management from Lincoln University, plus extensive business experience, I’ll bring a great skill set to regional council if elected. I’m hard-working, curious, and committed to building relationships, ensuring financial responsibility and delivering effective policy for the region.

Regional decisions should reflect the broadening perspectives of our diverse communities. Community conversations held in our rapidly expanding region have expressed a need for: increased public transport, responsible freshwater management, considered urban development, and the conservation of green spaces and productive land.

Vote for me Helen Troy for effective representation of the urban/rural balance. Let’s shape Mid Canterbury/Ōpākihi’s future with fresh perspectives.
