Mariana Morrison

I am standing for the Rotorua Lakes Community Board to bring strong governance, community-led thinking, and a deep commitment to whānau wellbeing to our lake's communities. With a doctorate in policy, extensive experience in commissioning, Kaupapa Māori design, and local government strategy, I offer the ability to turn complex issues into practical, community-driven solutions. I understand the Board’s role in advocating for residents, supporting local initiatives, protecting our precious lakes, and ensuring fair access to infrastructure, services, and opportunities.

My background working alongside iwi, hapū, community organisations, kaumātua and whānau equips me to build trusted relationships and ensure all voices are heard. I bring accountability, transparent leadership, and a strong focus on safe, thriving, sustainable communities.

I am committed to representing our lakes residents with integrity, championing local priorities, and ensuring decisions made at the Council table reflect the aspirations of the people who live here.
