Official Candidate Biography

I’m proud to have been your City Councillor for the last year making real progress for Wellington. But we have more to do to build the affordable, liveable, and climate resilient city we deserve.

We can’t fix Wellington by going back to the way things were. Our city can have more affordable housing, fast and frequent public transport, resilient public infrastructure, and an inner city everyone can enjoy.

In my first year as your Councillor I’ve secured 183 affordable homes, with 500 more on the way; tripled investment in our critical water infrastructure; and decarbonised our pools to save the climate - and ratepayers $10 million.

This is just the beginning. With your support I will work tirelessly on Council for your future in Wellington to be thriving, sustainable, and fair.

For a vibrant city everyone can afford, vote #1 Geordie Rogers.
