My principal place of residence is in the Christchurch Central/Ōhoko Constituency area.
I’m a freshwater advocate, trained journalist, and regional councillor committed to transparent, accountable governance that puts people and the environment first. I work to ensure democracy functions well - calling out undue industry influence, managing conflicts of interest, and promoting balanced, evidence-based decisions. I believe clean water and healthy ecosystems are achievable, but only through a fundamental shift in how freshwater is allocated - putting communities, nature, and future generations ahead of short-term profit.
After more than a decade in marine conservation, I’ve seen the consequences of under-protected coastlines. In 2024, I secured
$1.8 million to modernise Canterbury’s 20-year-old Coastal Environment Plan. I serve on the Canterbury Biodiversity Strategy oversight group and sit on the Audit and Risk and Regulation Hearing Committee. I also bring practical skills to governance, with a background in information technology and applied management. I’m standing again to continue advocating for a fairer, more sustainable future.
