My principal place of residence is in the Kaikoura District Council area.
My name is Sharon Rayner
I was born at Kaikoura Hospital in 1969 to Sue and Johnny Rayner.
Maori of Ngai Tahu/ Pakeha. I've lived in Kaikoura for the most part of my life. My whanau and friends are in and on this earth. Kaikoura runs deep in my veins and it's here in this environment and community I truly identify and feel a deep sense of Kaitiaki.
I am a radical freethinker.
My values are honesty, being upfront, dedication, kindness, friendly, strength and I'm approachable.
My policies: putting community and environment first; encouraging local production and industry; putting a town plan
into place to stop exploitation and over-development; find a median for tourism we are Kaikoura not Destination Kaikoura;
giving focus to youth; oppose 1080.
I'd go into this without knowledge of in-house council runnings, but with a fresh mind and ready to embrace the challenge.
