In the 2025 boundary review three western Auckland electorates – New Lynn, Kelston and Te Atatū – were replaced by reconfigured electorates: Waitākere, Glendene and Henderson which reconfigured boundaries. Henderson largely replaced the old Te Atatū electorate. The Henderson electorate covers the West Auckland suburbs of Henderson, Henderson Valley, Massey, Rānui and Swanson. It is expected that Henderson will be a marginal seat.
