Kapiti Electorate Profile

Profile

Kapiti will be a New Zealand parliamentary electorate in the next New Zealand general election. The electorate previously existed between 1972 and 1996. A bellwether electorate, it frequently changed between National and Labour. In the 2025 boundary review three lower North Island electorates, Ōtaki, Mana and Ōhāriu, are reconfigured as two electorates, Kapiti and Kenepuru, with Kapiti taking in parts of Ōtaki and the northern half of Mana.
