August 26th marked the official start of the 2011 election campaign-advertising season and the beginning of our final push forward to election day. What started last year with so many meetings and planning sessions with so many Party members comes down to these remaining 13 weeks. We are ready. But one vital element needs attention, and that is our financial support. We need you to donate to the campaign now. The harsh reality behind running a successful campaign is that no matter how many clever and inventive ideas we may have, we need money to make them a reality. Here are just a few examples of the types of costs we are struggling to fund:
Our 2011 Campaign funding goal is $1.2 million. Through the support and generosity of people like yourself we have already raised close to $600,000 but we still have much more to go. If you have not contributed to our campaign, please do so now. In the 2008 elections the Green Party received 283,120 votes. If each of these voters gave just $5 each we'd have reached our fundraising target already, but sadly not every voter is going to get a personal email from me asking for their support. Today, I am asking you - "what can you afford to give to this campaign?" No donation is too small. With your help, we are going to take this campaign as far as it can go. For the planet. For our people. Please donate now.
