Welcome, from me to you.
"It’s a great feeling to press 'Send' on this message. In my time as a Member of Parliament I’ve had many great experiences in Hamilton – from school prize givings, to seeing the benefits to our community that can result from sound policies.
As I work to advocate for Hamilton my hope is to share the good stories and alert you to problems that need resolving. I’d love to have your support by forwarding this message to your friends."

Hamilton - Auckland Passenger Train Service. We're on board.
Why are Nanaia Mahuta and I the only local Hamilton MPs who are advocating to get a commuter train service going between Hamilton and Auckland?
That's the question I posed recently at a public meeting in Hamilton where both National MPs Tim MacIndoe and David Bennett gave reasons why the service should not be established.
I believe that local MPs should fight to improve services for Hamiltonians and the rail proposal would improve services for Hamilton.
Where else in the developed world would you find the fourth largest city (Hamilton) just 120kms away from the largest city (Auckland) with a railway line in between, but no regular commuter train service?
They have one between Masterton and Wellington, as well as between Palmerston North and Wellington. Surely Hamilton can sustain a service.
The meeting convened by the Campaign for Better Transport was very well attended. Hamiltonians are showing their support.
I campaigned on Labour funding this train service at the last election and I remain committed to getting it up and running.
Please let me know how you would use such a train service.

Pacific Island Community welcomes Labour
Kia ora, Talofa lava, Kia orana, Ni sa bula vinaka, Malo e lelei, and warm Pacific greetings.
We were recently visited by Labour MP Luamanuvao Winnie Laban.
Anybody who has met Winnie knows her as a kind, warm person who approaches everything this job brings with passion and humility.
Winnie and I spent our time in Hamilton talking with the Pacific Island community and leaders, as well as members of the inter-faith council. We got a very kind and enthusiastic response, which is testament to the ongoing commitment we have made to keeping in touch with the Hamilton PI community.
One thing that was particularly heartening was hearing the stories of this community pulling together following the devastation of the tsunami earlier this year.
The ACC fiasco continues its roller coaster course as the government continues to play games with our world-class no-fault compensation scheme.
Singled out are sexual abuse victims who will now have to repeatedly convince an ACC panel that they are suffering a 'mental illness' before they will be given access to counselling. The figures paint the picture as the number of sensitive claims approved by ACC for the Waikato region has dropped from 28 each in the months of August and September to just nine in October. It is inexcusable to revicitmise this vulnerable group and I have to wonder about the individual stories that lie behind these figures. The National Council of Women is gathering support from those opposed to these measures here.
The other week's u-turn on the massive increases to motorcycle registration levies highlights another insidious government trend. They float grossly inflated figures, then stage a back-down to make the actual increases, however unfounded, seem palatable and reasonable to the public.
A recent Listener article asks serious questions about the reasoning behind National’s ACC levy increases. Read it here.
Thanks and Season's Greetings
