BUDGET 2025 UPDATE=C2=A0Dear John,=C2=A0Following the Minister of Finance's delivery of Budget 2025 yesterday, I wa=nted to share some key aspects that I believe are particularly relevant to =Ilam, reflecting the issues many of you, including those who I have recentl=y door knocked, have raised with me directly. One of the most encouraging areas is the significant investment in educatio=n. Given Ilam's 32 schools and our university, education is always a paramo=unt concern for residents. While there are numerous positive initiatives, I=want to specifically highlight the increased support allocated for childre=n with additional learning needs =E2=80=93 an area I know is deeply importa=nt to many families.=C2=A0=C2=A0LEARNING SUPPORT FOR KIWI STUDENTSThe Government is delivering the most significant investment in learning su=pport in a generation to better support Kiwi kids at school. This includes =funding all primary schools to have a Learning Support Coordinator.Below, I've outlined a few additional Budget highlights that I believe will=have a significant impact on our community here in Ilam.=C2=A0=C2=A0CHRISTCHURCH MEN'S PRISONThe site's redevelopment will include 240 new high security beds and a new =52 bed Health Centre and Intervention and Support Unit.=C2=A0=C2=A0BURNHAM MILITARY CAMPFunding will deliver the Burnham Regional Supply Facility: a centralised wa=rehouse to house deployable supply, a regional equipment pool, and goods di=stribution function.=C2=A0=C2=A0INVESTMENT BOOSTThis is a new tax incentive to encourage businesses to invest, grow the eco=nomy, and lift wages. It allows a business to immediately deduct 20 per cen=t of the cost of a new asset, on top of depreciation, meaning a much lower =tax bill in the year of purchase.=C2=A0=C2=A0SUPPORT FOR GOLDCARD HOLDERS66,000 seniors with SuperGold cards will be receiving a helping hand with t=heir rates payments.=C2=A0=C2=A012 MONTH PRESCRIPTIONSPrescription lengths will be expanded from 3 to 12 months, saving Kiwis' mo=ney on repeat fees and GP appointments.=C2=A0For more details about the budget click on =C2=A0[Budget 2025 - Growing the=Economy to Help Kiwis Get Ahead | National Party]([link removed].nz/budget2025)=C2=A0This has been a carefully curated Budget, ensuring we, as a Government, foc=us on the core services which benefit all, and help grow the economy to ens=ure Kiwis can get ahead.=C2=A0As always, feel free to contact me with any questions and thoughts.=C2=A0Kind regardsDr Hamish CampbellMP for Ilam=E2=80=8A[Facebook]([link removed])[Twitter]([link removed])[Instagram]([link removed])[Tiktok]([link removed])[www.national.org.nz]([link removed])=C2=A0New Zealand National Party41 Pipitea StreetThorndon, Wellington 6011New Zealand=C2=A0If this email advertises any event or events that asked for payment to atte=nd, then it is a fundraising event with proceeds, after costs, being a dona=tion to the New Zealand National Party.=C2=A0Authorised by J de Joux, 41 Pipitea St, Wellington.=C2=A9 2025 | All rights reserved. This email was sent to[email protected]You can [unsubscribe]([link removed]ibe?a=3DVmYELi&c=3D01JBBJ5HSZJNZ6ET6NF8VKT466&k=3D18bda10f3f1c0dda266bac60f=da8b67a&m=3D01JVXQDFPVJZEJ7KMXZBXSS5JW&r=3D01JVXRE18QW89NQBFTS6SNHNE2) from=this list.
