Last week, we gave examples of steps the government can take to 'mind the gap' between rich and poor. Now many New Zealanders are asking whether John Key's Budget makes that gap bigger or smaller.

Unfortunately, choices like tax cuts that favour the wealthy rather than money to build state homes make the gap bigger.

If we invest in state housing, we help our most vulnerable families, take some pressure off rents, and stimulate the building sector...that would be our choice.

Regards,

Russel Norman

MMP is a fair system for everyone. It is only right that there are campaign spending caps in place to ensure that the vote on the future of New Zealand's democracy is also fair.
