Deal with Two Crises at One Time
The Green Party called for a Green New Deal in the House for three days running, noting that the Deal will tackle both climate change and the economic crisis at the same time.

Government needs to learn how to walk and chew gum if it’s to fix this economy
Instead of a doctrinaire attachment to tax cuts and spending on roads, the Government should listen to Sir Nicholas Stern, the United Nations, Barack Obama, along with many other governments around the world: Green New Deal investments address both the economic and environmental crises at the same time.

Superfund continues to invest in nuclear weapons
Four months after a commitment to divest the New Zealand Superfund from companies involved in manufacturing nuclear weapons and cluster bombs, the Green Party today called on the Government to set a deadline to sell its remaining $25 million investment.

Hope that the Foreshore Act will be repealed is real

Metiria was at the terms of reference announcement for the Foreshore Review this week, and
couldn’t help but wonder why no-one asked the question: “If National does not repeal the Act, will the Maori Party relinquish their ministerial posts as they did before?” It is a tough question but one that needed to be asked. Read Metiria's blog and the comments here.
