Dear [Name],
=C2=A0
It is too hard and costly to get things built in New Zealand, and the Resou=
rce Management Act is a big reason why.
=C2=A0
So, we are scrapping it and replacing it with a new planning system built o=
n the idea of private property rights.
=C2=A0
The new planning system will save ratepayers and taxpayers $13.3b by only r=
egulating what is necessary and reducing the number of consents by up to 46=
% every year.
=C2=A0
The economic benefits of this new system are significant. Independent analy=
sis shows the new planning system is projected to boost GDP by an additiona=
l 0.56 per cent every year by 2050, worth up to $3.1 billion annually.
=C2=A0
That means more growth and higher living standards for New Zealanders. It m=
eans unlocking more housing across New Zealand, speeding up critical infras=
tructure like roads, energy projects, hospitals and schools and backing our=
world-class farmers and growers to get on with doing what they do better t=
han anyone else.=C2=A0

National is ending the culture of =E2=80=98no=E2=80=99. It's a critical com=
ponent of our long-term plan to fix the basics and build the future.=C2=A0
