Vote Trish Given #1 for a City Councillor who puts people at the heart of every decision.
I’m standing as an Independent Candidate for Motukairangi/Eastern Ward because we can do better on infrastructure, transport, housing, climate, and connection. I bring collaborative leadership, conflict resolution skills, council and business experience, and a deep understanding of Wellington’s challenges and opportunities.
I’ve spent the past decade working for a fairer, more connected city where everyone thrives, and was honoured with an Absolutely Positively Wellingtonian Award in 2020 for service to our communities.
I’ve lived in the Eastern Suburbs for 14 years and I’m raising my family here. I’m passionate about our vibrant communities, local businesses, and natural environments, but there’s work to do. I’m someone who rolls up my sleeves, works with others, and takes action. For a strong, independent voice who listens, leads, and gets things done - vote Trish Given #1
Kia ora, I’m Trish Given, and I’m standing for Council in the Eastern Ward.
Originally from Ireland, I’ve called Wellington home for 16 years – the last 14 in the Eastern suburbs with my Kiwi husband, our two kids, and our rescue dog Wylie. We love this community and I’m standing because I care deeply about its future.
I’ve worked across local government, community development, social enterprise, sustainability, education, and small business – including three years at Wellington City Council and 6 years as a community centre coordinator.
I was honoured with the Absolutely Positively Wellingtonian Award in 2020 for long-term contributions to Pōneke’s community life.
I bring hands-on experience, a deep understanding of how Council works (and how it can work better), and a collaborative approach focused on equity, sustainability, and long-term investment in what makes our communities thrive.
Let’s build a stronger, more vibrant Wellington – together.
