Ngozi Penson has lived in New Zealand for many years. Born and raised in Nigeria, she is of the Indigenous Ibo tribe from Southeastern Nigeria, West Africa. She moved to New Zealand in the 1990s and has since become a deeply engaged and respected member of the community.

Her professional journey spans entrepreneurship, education, governance, and advocacy. Ngozi founded and operated her own business, volunteered extensively, and worked with Not-For-Profit organisations.

She was the former Deputy Chair of Te Whatu Ora / Health New Zealand Consumer Council (Waitematā) and a past member of the Metro Auckland Clinical Governance Forum (MACGF). Ngozi currently serves on the Board of the Africa New Zealand Business Chamber (ANZBC) and previously contributed to the English Language Partners Ethnic Advisory Group (EAG). She also co-founded the MELAA Advisory Group to address inequities and improve representation for minority communities.

Ngozi is strongly connected to diverse communities across Aotearoa and brings a wealth of experience in community engagement and advocacy. She is standing for election to the Kaipātiki Local Board to champion better public transport, reduced traffic congestion, walkable neighborhoods, improved community safety, and stronger environmental stewardship through capacity building.

A vote for Ngozi is a vote for practical change to make Kaipātiki better for everyone.
