Welcome to The Progress Report 2.0 - a repository of tools and data for anyone interested in New Zealand politics.
As part of my ongoing effort to populate The Progress Report’s database of New Zealand politicians, I’ve been digging into old local election results. Many of these results—particularly from earlier elections—aren’t available anywhere online.
Recently, I reached out to Waikato District Council via Mayor Jacqui Church, who very kindly arranged for the 2013 election results and returns to be provided. Since this data doesn’t appear to exist anywhere else on the internet, I’m uploading the two files here so that others can access and make use of them.

Making this kind of information publicly available helps preserve a record of local democracy—and makes it easier for researchers, journalists, and citizens to understand how our communities have changed over time.
If you have details of old election results that may not be online, please feel free to send them through.
